iSmart Document

Files redacted with an earlier version

If you used “Redact” in a version released before this update, the files you produced then may still contain the original text under the black boxes (for example, it can still be searched, copied or read by OCR) — and so may copies you exported or shared. Opening an old file with this version does not make that file any safer.

Before you share those files, open the original document (or the earlier redacted file) with this version, place the redaction boxes again, press “Apply redaction” and save as a new copy. Then check the result yourself — for example, try to search for or copy text in the redacted areas.

The app cannot tell which files are affected, so it shows this message once. It does not scan, change or delete your files or original documents.

What “an earlier version” means

Every iSmart Document installer released before the version with the redaction update. That version is about to be released; this page will name its version and date once it is out.
